A single red rose...

My photos from my Dad's trip to Normandy/Paris in June are online (finally). Now, to write a trip report to go with these photos - maybe before Xmas? One can hope...

Astana on the Col des Abeilles

This was taken on the Col des Abeilles, in the Luberon. The peloton reached this roughly 30-45 minutes after Sault and perhaps 90 minutes before Mont Ventoux (give or take). We parked in Monieux and hiked up a tiny little road (so small it probably isn't on the map) to get to the Tour route.

The fella in yella is Alberto Contador and Lance Armstrong is wearing black socks. Shortly after this photo was taken a water canister came winging past my head - too fast for me to catch and it went over the side of the mountain.

Here is a photo of Mark Cavendish, sprinter extraordinaire. He rides for Columbia-HTC and he's the one to watch in the coming years!

This was my first Tour de France and I am now a convert. When you start making google alerts for the riders, and following them on twitter, you have passed the point of no return.
See more Tour de France photos at my website below. The Paris ones will be put online shortly so come back in a few days if you would like to see the rest of them.
